We’re taking the library on the road! Yokosuka Library will provide extension library services at Ikego. Check out and return books and movies. Make an item request, and we will bring the materials to Ikego from Yokosuka Library. Take this opportunity also to learn about e-books, e-audiobooks, and other online library services available to you 24/7.

Piano Lessons
Wednesday • 1300-2000 • Ikego Community Center
For many, learning to play the piano is a soothing way in which to alleviate stress and to stimulate the mind. Private, thirty-minute lessons are available for both beginner and intermediate students during the times listed above. $60 for four lessons.

Guitar Lessons
Tuesday • 1430-1730 • Ikego Community Center
Learn to play the guitar or refine your technique! This enjoyable instrument offers lasting physical, emotional, and mental benefits. Private, thirty-minute lessons are available for both beginner and intermediate students ages 10 and up during the times listed above. $60 for four lessons.

Japanese Language Lessons
Adults: Tuesday • 1200-1400 • Ikego Community Center
Children: Friday • 1500-1800 • Ikego Community Center
Build your linguistic ability by learning Japanese through conversation, fun games, and activities! One-hour lessons are available for students ages 5 and up between the above times. $28 for four lessons • $10 per individual lesson.

To our valued Yokosuka Community,
As a result of our current governmental financial uncertainty and subsequent release of a CNIC Execute Order (EXORD), CNIC has mandated prudent but stringent belt-tightening measures to include impacts to MWR pending resolution of the financial uncertainty. As such, effective 18 March 2013, our programs will operate under mandated guidance established via the CNIC EXORD.
However, in an effort to dispel confusion and rumor, we are proactively sharing the changes that you, our valued customers, will experience in response to the mandated guidance. With that said, we will continue to keep the safety and well-being of our community foremost in mind and we will work hard to continue providing as many quality of life opportunities as possible. However, as we continue to manage this mandated situation, we kindly ask for your understanding and patience.
The following are changes in effect:
1) MWR-sponsored special / community events at Yokosuka, Ikego and Negishi will be discontinued including but not limited to: carnivals, holiday celebration events, community flea markets, block parties, community wide contests (i.e. decorating contests), outreach movie nights (i.e. Ikego outdoor movies), etc.
2) Reduction of Navy Entertainment acts, shows and visits. Examples include but not limited to: bands, celebrities/athletes, variety acts, etc.
3) CFAY Open Base events are all to be determined (TBD).
